RICHMOND – The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development announced $129,400 in Virginia Main Street funding for six projects in Virginia. The grants include Downtown Investment Grants (DIG) and Financial Feasibility Grants.
“Virginia Main Street is working throughout the state to make our communities better places to live, visit and do business,” said DHCD Director Bill Shelton. “We look for projects that clearly align with the community’s vision and desire to draw additional private investment into these downtown districts.”
Right now, churches, businesses, warehouses and homes across Grundy are being transformed into collection spots for Operation Christmas Child. Area collection sites hope to collect 10,000 gift-filled shoeboxes from individuals, families and groups for needy kids during Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week, Nov. 17–24.
A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world in Jesus’ Name through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child.
